The Artist
Music was never really a choice to get into. It was an outlet. I started singing at six and picked up the guitar at fifteen. Being a Thai-Chinese American artist, born in Bangkok, Thailand, and raised between cultures, I was never meant to fit into one box.
The experience of moving through different worlds shaped the way I hear music and the way I write songs within the Soul, R&B, Jazz, Pop, and crossover genres. I've always been drawn to expressing the many spectrums of human emotions and experiences we can't put into words, and I think that comes from a life spent navigating my identity.
Mandy Moon took shape in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2004, where the city's vibrant music scene deepened my love for soul and rhythm & blues. Those years were foundational as an artist. I later went on to study at Florida Atlantic University, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Music, specializing in Studio Engineering and Voice. I'm a trained vocalist and guitarist, and that formal training is the core of my work and creative process.
I spent several years in the South Florida music scene before releasing my first single "Why Can't I Breathe" in December 2015. Just before moving to Nashville in 2016, I debuted "Lie to Me" on Balcony TV Miami. I've called Nashville my home ever since.
In Nashville, I released my EP Passing Through in 2019 and have continued releasing original music, including "Drive," my first official music video, along with "Lighthouse," "Same Page," and my latest single "Love Myself." I also dedicate time as a contracted teaching artist with Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) and Girls Write Nashville (GWN), working in afterschool programs and events to encourage the arts across Nashville and its surrounding communities.
I'm still writing, still performing where they'll have me, and still here with more releases on the way.
Artists know how to make their vision. Most project managers have never made something. I've been on every side of a creative project. I've made it, funded it, performed it, and released it. My lived artist experience shapes how I show up as a project manager.
The Project Manager
"I love a good project." That's what you'll hear me say a lot. Project management was an unknown passion until it was discovered through my own creative work. I wanted to find better ways to collaborate with creatives, my bandmates, and people I was working alongside. There had to be a better way to do things.
My discovery led me down a path I wish I knew existed beforehand. It would've saved me hours of painful nights and days. I've worked as a project manager in music, marketing, nonprofits, and tech industries as a servant leader for over a decade across corporate, startup, and creative environments.
My first run at project management, without realizing it at the time, was during my crowdfunding campaign for my EP Passing Through. You can check out my story here. Since then, I've taken that lived experience into my work as a certified project manager, helping artists, creators, and founders run campaigns and projects that actually hit their goals. I've managed campaigns from both sides of the table, and I'm proud to say I've helped fund over $30,000 in creative projects along the way.
I hold a PMP (Project Management Professional) and a PSM I (Professional Scrum Master I) certification. Both are industry standards alongside the real-world experience I bring to every project.
I've run projects from a $180K grant for an archival library to documentaries, music videos, release planning, marketing campaigns, studio day logistics, event management, product releases, operational workflows, and enterprise-level implementations. Every one of those environments has shaped who I am as a project manager.
